Minimum requirements:

  • Completed SAIPA Articles (Preferred).
  • B.Com degree. Honours degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years post-articles experience required.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Financial management experience.
  • Strong aptitude for mathematics and accounting.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and IFRS.
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Monthly calculations, reconciliations and submission of the Value Added Tax.
  • Preparation of annual and monthly cash flow and normal budgets.
  • Oversee reconciliation of inter-company loans.
  • Preparation of monthly management statements.
  • Cost projections and cost analysis.
  • Growth projections and analysis.
  • Discussions, presentations and analysing of the monthly management statements with the Directors.
  • Discussion and comparisons between the annual budget vs actual expenditure.
  • Oversee capturing and processing of all financial documents and accounting related information for all relevant companies.
  • Calculation and submission of the provisional tax returns.
  • Calculation and submission of the annual income tax returns.
  • Preparation of auditor files on an annual basis.
  • Preparation of annual financial statements for the auditors.
  • Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel (Department).
  • Directing financial planning and strategy.
  • Analysing and reporting on financial performance.
  • Overseeing audit and tax functions.
  • Developing and implementing accounting policies.
  • Preparing forecasts and comprehensive budgets.
  • Reviewing departmental budgets.
  • Assessing, managing, and minimising risk.
  • Analysing complex financial data.
  • Managing internal controls.
  • Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines.
  • Management of IT systems and all IT-related functions within the company.
  • Capture and balance current accounts for all companies (daily).
  • Capture and balance credit card accounts for all companies (monthly).
  • Capture and balance fleet card accounts for all companies (monthly).
  • General filing.
  • Assisting Directors with special requests.
  • Preparation of formal company documents (all companies).
  • Assisting auditors with requests.
  • Monthly VAT calculations.
  • All AVO/ISA journals (all companies).
  • Balancing loan accounts (all companies).
  • Inventory correction journals (manufacturing).
  • Updating and correcting AVO/ISA sheets.
  • Journals for interest on loan accounts.
  • Assistance on project budgets and spending.
  • Assisting with budgets.
  • Identify risks and report on all identified risks.
  • To perform any other task necessary for the conduct of the employers business, as the employer may from time to time.
