A reputable and rapidly growing pharmaceutical company in Johannesburg is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance team. We specialize in the manufacture and distribution of quality pharmaceutical products and are committed to excellence, innovation, and compliance. We are looking for an experienced accounting professional who can ensure accurate financial management, uphold regulatory standards, and support our mission of improving healthcare outcomes.
Key Responsibilities / Duties

• Manage the full accounting function including general ledger, journals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Monitor and manage cost of sales, inventory accounting, and manufacturing cost analysis.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset management.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry regulations, tax legislation, and financial reporting standards.
• Support external and internal audits by preparing required documentation.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain, production, and quality assurance.
• Provide financial insights to support business decisions and operational strategies.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (BCom Accounting or equivalent).
• Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an accounting role, preferably within pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or FMCG industries.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, and inventory accounting.
• Proficiency in accounting software
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
