Job Description
TSQ Advisors is essentially a
finance partner for high-growth, VC-backed startups
. They act as anoutsourced finance department
, helping startups with:Financial planning & analysis Accounting Business intelligence Fundraising strategy & execution Investor relations Strategic decision-making
They focus on
disruptive startups
(healthtech, greentech, robotics) that have raised significant funding (over $100M in just the past six months), often backed bytop-tier venture capital firms
like A16Z, Tiger Global, and Y Combinator.Role Overview (Senior Accountant / Client-Facing Accountant)
You would be managing
day-to-day accounting operations
for multiple startups, while also providingstrategic input
. It's ahybrid role
: technical accounting + client-facing advisory.Responsibilities:
Manage
Accounts Payable (A/P)
andAccounts Receivable (A/R)
Handlemonth-end close
(reconciliations, journal entries, financial statement accuracy) EnsureUS GAAP compliance
Manage/reviewpayroll
Preparefinancial reports
for clients (likely dashboards, KPIs, P&L, cash flow) Supporttax & audit requests
Collaborate with Venture CFO & Controller Recommendprocess automation & efficiency improvements
Requirements
3+ years
in a similar accounting/finance roleCPA or public accounting experience
(strong plus)Client-facing experience
(must-have, since you'll deal with startup founders & executives)Strong knowledge of US GAAP
