Job Summary Are you a skilled accounting professional looking to take the next step in your career? A leading organisation in the education industry is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team based in Pretoria, Gauteng.
This role offers the opportunity to oversee and manage key financial functions while playing a vital role in strategic decision-making and compliance within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions with accuracy and efficiency
- Monitor budget performance and advise on improvements
- Manage payroll processes and ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Prepare and review company tax returns
- Provide financial insights and analysis to executive leadership
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
- Work collaboratively across departments to align financial operations with organisational goals
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 5 years' accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a supervisory capacity
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and relevant legislation
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel and XERO
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organisational skills
