Our client is part of an international financial services group with a strong presence in capital markets, private wealth, and corporate advisory. The South African office is based in the Southern Suburbs and offers a dynamic, youthful, and professional environment. They are seeking aSenior Accountant to take ownership of the finance function in a stand-alone capacity. This is a full-time, office-based role reporting directly to the Finance Manager.
What you'll be doing:

• You will manage the full finance function, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely financial records and reporting across the business

Key responsibilities include:

• Full accounting in Xero from source document to trial balance
• Preparing and maintaining financial records (AP, AR, payroll, GL management)
• Monthly financial reporting and reconciliation
• Bank processing, reconcilations and payroll
• Compliance filings and reporting
• Daily equity trading reports (AI-assisted)
• Supporting small teams with finance queries and processes
• Participating in continuous improvement of processes and systems
• Ad hoc tasks to support management

What we're looking for:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Minimum 3-5 years' accounting experience (articles not required)
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and sound accounting principles
• Proficiency in accounting systems (Xero advantageous) and MS Office
• Independent, self-sufficient, and able to manage deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• A social and collaborative personality to fit into the team culture
