Security Manager - South of JHB
Our client in the FMCG manufacturer sector is seeking a Security Manager to manage the company's security operations and aid in developing strategies and procedures to further strengthen the security of procedures and processes within the business.|
Duties & Responsibilities
Security:

• Oversee asset protection of both people and staff as well as to prevent theft and inventory/ stock loss.
• Analyze and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
• Supervising, recruiting & appointment of a Security Company.
• Staff training in security rules and procedures.
• Set and Manage budgets for security operations.
• Attend meetings, professional seminars, or conferences to keep abreast of changes in executive legislative directives or new technologies impacting security operation.
• Assist in emergency management and contingency planning.
• Prepare reports or make presentations on internal investigations, losses, or violations of regulations, policies and procedures.
• Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using new and established protocols.
• Participate in site Investigations and report on findings.
• Develop work schedules, allocating tasks and monitoring staff performance.

Procedures and Processes:

• Create or implement security standards, policies, and procedures.
• Write and review security-related documents, such as incident reports, proposals, and tactical or strategic initiative.
• Respond to bomb threats, fire alarms, or intrusion alarms, following emergency response procedures.
• Recommend security procedures for access control.
• Identify, investigate, or resolve security breaches and coordinate appropriate response.
• Monitor and manage security policies, programs or procedures to ensure compliance with internal security policies, licensing requirements, or applicable government security requirements, policies, and directives.
• Conduct physical examinations of property to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.

Desired Experience & Qualification * Qualification in Safety, Security and / or Environment, or related fields.

• Minimum 3 years' experience in defining and managing Security compliance systems.
• Extensive experience in preventing illegal activity and performing access control
• In-depth knowledge of security procedures and surveillance equipment
• Knowledge of security industry regulations.
• Minimum 5 years in a management position.
• Security in a FMCG environment is highly advantageous.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong decision-making ability.
• High levels of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
• Meticulous about meeting standards and customer expectations.
• Working knowledge of relevant South African legislation, applicable SANS codes, best practice guidelines and corporate governance.
