Alert Engine Parts is searching for a Security Guard to join the team in Goodwood. The purpose of the position is to protect the companys property, employees and visitors.
Requirements:
Matric/Grade 12
PSIRA Grade C certificate
Excellent knowledge of security protocols
Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work alone or as part of a team
Ability to solve problems as they arise
Attention to detail
Ability to react appropriately in stressful situations
Presentable and disciplined
Reliable and punctual
Honest and trustworthy with strong integrity
Able to complete incident reports and maintain accurate logs
Clear criminal checks
Duties/Responsibilities:
Patrolling and monitoring activities on the companys premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure
Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over
Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors and vehicles according to protocols
Monitoring surveillance cameras to watch out for any disruptions or unlawful activities
Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to management
Testing security systems and, if needed, operating X-ray machines and metal detectors
Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner
Report safety hazards such as oil spills, damaged equipment or unsafe behavior by staff.
Enforce company policies and procedures such as smoking policies and PPE requirements
Conducting personal searches in accordance with company policies and established procedures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems for immediate accessibility.
