Security & Emergency Specialist Production
Durban - KwaZulu Natal - South Africa

Our client, a listed and leading plastics manufacturer based in Durban, serving customers and markets in South Africa, Africa and beyond, is looking for a Security & Emergency Specialist to oversee the Security & Emergency function & proactively evaluate the security including site Emergency preparedness that can have a negative impact on the business. You will be tasked with developing, implementing, maintaining security protocols, & emergency preparedness plans to ensure the safety & security of personnel, facilities, & assets.

Requirements:

• Policing Diploma / Fire Technology Diploma / Degree or equivalent
• Drivers' License
• 10 years' relevant experience in the security & emergency environment within the chemical & manufacturing industry
• PSIRA registered
• Knowledge & experience in coordinating & execution of requirements pertaining to emergency services equipment in accordance in SAQCC & NFPA requirements & set guidelines including ASIB requirements
• Good communication & leadership skills

Key Performance Areas:

• All key Security & Emergency preparedness functions
• Identify, analyse, & record crime trend in the area including potential events that might affect the business by proactively identifying & analysing risks, threats, & recommend counter measures to prevent events
• Develop & continuously revise a proactive security strategy
• Investigate & consider area innovations (technology & processes)
• Security Management: Develop & implement security policies, procedures, & protocols
• Emergency Preparedness: Assess potential risks & vulnerabilities, conduct risk assessments, & create comprehensive emergency response
• Crisis Response & Management
• Training & Education: Provide training & education to employees on emergency procedures
• Technologies: Evaluate, implement, & manage security & Emergency preparedness technologies such as access control systems, CCTV, alarm systems, & fire protection / prevention safeguards
• Collaboration & Liaison: Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, emergency services, & external security partners to enhance security measures & response capabilities
