Section Rangers (4 positions) - South AfricaVacancies currently exists for four Section Rangers in Table Mountain National Park. The successful candidates will report to the relevant line manager.LocationTABLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARKRequirementsNational Diploma in Nature Conservation or relevant N. Diploma in Natural Sciences. BTech in the same fields will be an added advantage;Minimum of 5 years relevant practical experience of which 3 years must be in supervision of field ranger teams/supervision of contractors responsible for alien clearing, footpath construction maintenance and the management of tourism infrastructure and services.Environmental Management Inspection (EMI) appointment.Firearm competency and the ability to use a wide range of firearms. (NB: valid SAPS Competency Certificate; Original Training Competency Certificate for Business Unit Standards; PFTC Statement of results indicating the unit standards for law and Business Purpose Unit Standards.)Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially MS Word, Excel and PowerPointValid Code 08/10 driverxe2x80x99s licenseGood written and verbal communication skills, as well as conflict resolution, project management and liaison skills.Working knowledge of the NEMA: Protected Areas Act, MLRA, ICMA and other relevant environmentalThe following will be an added advantage:BTech in the same fields will be an added advantage.Valid Drivers with PDP would be an added advantage.ResponsibilitiesAssist and give input into conservation planning and development plans for the section.Manage the conservation and rehabilitation of terrestrial biodiversity of the section, including assisting with planning and implementation of control of alien/extralimital species and monitoring of key functions and processes.Manage fire in the section both as a tool for conservation purposes and to reduce risk to SANParks and neighbouring properties.Manage the impact of degradation on cultural heritage resources and provide input into the Cultural Heritage plan.Monitor the implementation of the Environmental Management Plans and ensure compliance.Ensure adequate control of visitor activities, and safety and security.Ensure all infrastructure in the section is maintained to adequate standards.Ensure the enforcement of good corporate governance and pro-active risk management.Ensure the protection of the conservation estate and territorial integrity by enforcing compliance with the relevant conservation legislations.Manage the human capital of the section.Management of the conservation budget and assetsDevelop and maintain purposeful relationships with key stakeholdersPlease NoteThe cost-to-company remuneration package will be offered based on the salary scale of a position with a Paterson C4 job grade.The successful candidate will have to provide their own accommodation as there is no official accommodation in the park.Applications that have not been responded to within 21 days should be regarded as unsuccessful.SalaryR380,241.88 xe2x80x93 R621,070.77Paterson GradeC4How To ApplyOnly interested persons who meet the above stated requirements should apply using the link below:https://forms.office.com/r/e8FyPM3jCJClosing Date19 February 2024Should you not hear from us within 21 days after the closing date, please consider your application as unsuccessful.
