Location: Mogalakwena Mine, Mokopane

The role is responsible for providing expert advice, coaching and guidance across the activities of the employee lifecycle that elevates a seamless employee experience through effective execution of the People & Organisation activities, supporting line managers on effective people management in their functional areas.
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing advisory service across "hire to retire" activities of the employee lifecycle in-line with legislation and collective agreements, interpret and operationalize policies and processes.
  • Support the Manager P&O in building a high performing culture, guide & upskill line managers on having the right performance related conversations and reviews. Have an understanding on the performance management cycle/process, identify causes of underperformance and escalate where necessary.
  • Gain employee insights into customer groups through focus groups and survey data, support the creation and execution of actions plans to drive experience and embed the Anglo-American culture.
  • Facilitate the implementation of employee surveys, implementing the relevant action plans/cultural initiatives to drive the desired culture and improve employee engagement.
  • Manage the procedural aspects of employee relations matters and drive the required people activity related to collective agreement negotiations.
  • Drive and support transformation initiatives including external reporting.
  • Manage and execute people and organisation related projects acting as a change agent on people related change initiatives within the operation.
  • Act as the escalation point for HR queries and cases (e.g., Long Term Absence and Payroll Issues) that cannot be resolved through People Services, driving continuous improvement through consistent advice.
  • Guide managers through leading manager upskill sessions on key HR processes (e.g., how to manage absence, preventing bullying & harassment at work) ensuring adherence to policy & procedure.
  • Responsible for executing activities relating to OE and OD programmes and initiatives such as executing position moves, organization unit changes, role profile development and other restructuring activities.
  • Interpret HR data, turning data into future focused insights to help inform people decisions (e.g., absence reports), tracking trends, diagnosing & raising issues or opportunities for improvement, ensuring data accuracy to enable the right people decisions are made.
  • Accountable for the integrity of HR & talent data by ensuring it is accurate, up-to-date and consistent.
  • Accountable for accurate and timely data and issue resolution relating to pay.
This is role is a band 6/12 level and reporting to the Senior Manager P&O.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree/Advanced Diploma in Human Resource management or Employee relations.
  • Additional qualification in Labour Law will be advantageous.
  • Valid EB/Code 08 driver's licence
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
  • At least five years People & Organisation experience, of which three years in a generalist position and at least two years in the mining environment or similar industry
  • Advanced level of skills in labour planning and management.
  • Proficient in application of LRA.
  • Proficient in Talent Management practices and implementation.
  • Proficient skills in Performance Management.
  • Proficient in understanding, interpreting, and implementing employee rewards and benefits policies.
  • Proficient in Employee Relations practices
  • Developing skills in Organisational Effectiveness
