Requirements
Grade 12
Three (3) years' experience in the policing environment (which
should include tactical policing)
Qualified to serve as an operational member of a police service
(e.g. Law Enforcement, Metro Police, Traffic Services, SAPS)
Successfully completed the Special Task Force Training Program
or City of Cape Town SWAT Training Program
Excellent physical fitness and endurance
Code B/EB driving license
No criminal record
Key Performance Areas
Implements and monitors the plans / objectives in high risk
operations.
Monitors the Key Performance Indicators and outcomes of
personnel with the SWAT Team Section.
Implements procedures, systems and controls to regulate specific
work and related applications associated with the functionality.
Coordinates and monitors functions relating to special operations
that are land based, seaborne and/or airborne.
Disseminates guidance and information on specific key
performance areas and requirements associated with the policing
of violent crime.
Coordinates specific administrative and reporting requirements
associated with the key performance and result indicators of the
functionality.
Manage training and skills development and the transfer of skills
and knowledge.
