Job Description

The African Union Development Agency invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the post of

Secretary.






Required Skills and

Competencies




Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in administrative tasks, including correspondence management, data management, and record-keeping.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet tight deadlines.

High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management software.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Adaptability and capacity to handle changing priorities and unforeseen challenges in a fast-paced work environment.

Proactive approach with initiative to support project activities and contribute to smooth implementation.

Strong time management skills to handle multiple project demands and deadlines.

Demonstrated experience providing comprehensive administrative support, such as organising meetings, coordinating logistics, and maintaining documentation.

Proficiency in one of the AU working languages, fluency in another AU language an added advantage.




Education and

Experience

:




Minimum of a High School Certificate and a College Diploma in General Administration, Developmental Studies, Office Administration, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field. Minimum of 3 (three) to five (5) experience in providing programme and administrative support in coordinating events, including logistical arrangements and stakeholder engagement, including at least two (2) years in a similar role in national, regional, international, or multinational organisations.

Remuneration:

Indicative basic salary of US$16,242.85 per annum plus other entitlements e.g., Post Adjustment (46% of basic salary), Housing allowance ($16,813.44 per annum), gratuity (15% of gross salary) in conformity with the rules and procedures applicable to internationally recruited staff of the African Union.
