VACANCY: Johannesburg Seating Practitioner and Facilitator

Shonaquip Social Enterprise is a groundbreaking and innovative hybrid Social Enterprise working with people with disabilities. The SSE has transformed from two separate entities, one focusing on barriers to mobility
(Shonaquip) and the other barriers in community (Uhambo Foundation) into one combined delivery task team. Through this process, we have chosen to focus on and strengthen our joint project delivery through building "ecosystems for inclusion".

We are now searching to fill the role of Seating Practitioner and Facilitator in Johannesburg, Gauteng. This person will be responsible for all clinical aspects associated with wheelchair provision, training of therapists and other service providers and liaising with stakeholders to improve wheelchair provision. Further, the person will be assisting in the the delivery of various Seating, ECD, Community programmes as well as parent traning, creating of referral networks and stakeholder engagements.

The ideal candidate should be vibrant, strategically minded and delivery focused with some experience working in communities and have a passion for inclusion of people with disabilities in society. This person should be willing to learn and develop new skills as needed for the position. He/she must be able to work as part of the larger interdisciplinary team and also be able to deliver the programmes independently. Being confident to work inside communities is essential, this includes being able to communicate fluently in English and at least one other language commonly spoken in South Africa.

Typical responsibilities will include:

Provide wheelchair services to individual SSE clients and project beneficiaries Identify and foster new opportunities to strengthen SSE objectives Facilitate training programmes with service providers, government entities, caregivers, parents, etc. Identify and establish community stakeholder relationships Confidently track deliverables and targets, administration and report writing Domestic and international travel
Requirements:

Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Orthotist qualification Registered with HPCSA Driver's Licence Basic and intermediate Wheelchair and Seating training and experience Advanced Wheelchair and Seating training/experience an advantage
