Job Description
Job Summary An opportunity for an experienced SCRAPYARD SUPERVISOR is required for permanent employment based in Cape Town. o To oversee and coordinate all scrap handling activities at the plant. o This role is essential for ensuring the correct identification, sorting, preparation and flow of ferrous and non-ferrous materials feeding into the production process. o The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years' experience in the steel industry, preferably within scrapyard operations, raw materials handling, furnace preparation, or metallurgical environments. o Experience gained in operations such as ArcelorMittal, Scaw Metals, Cape Gate, Highveld Steel, or similar heavy-industry scrapyard setups will be highly advantageous. o Interested applications are requested to submit their updated CV's (in Word.doc format) via email using Ref # 2414 o Min 5 years' exp working in the steel industry, scrapyard operations, or furnace feed preparation. Strong background in scrap sorting, categorisation, identification and grading. o Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including their value, melting characteristics and processing requirements. o Experience supervising teams in a heavy industrial or high-risk environment. o Grade 12 (essential) o Scrap classification training or metallurgical exposure (adv) o Supervisory or leadership training (adv) o Valid driver's licence or ability to operate material handling equipment (adv)
