Job Description


The position is for a Scooter driver, for specimen collection and delivery at different clinics and hospital in eThekwini district. Supporting health care workers in the field. Must be able to manage time effectively and ability to navigate in and around eThekwini well. Ability to manage specimen samples, store correctly, collect and deliver on time. Maintain excellent standards of Health and safety at all times

Work Functions

  • Collection and delivery of specimen samples from community teams, Drxe2x80x99s rooms and submit to the Laboratory.
  • Collaborate with both office and field team.
  • Support the fleet and field team.
  • Provide oversight to scooter maintenance.
  • Conduct quality control, safety inspections and compliance audits of facilities, fleet and equipment.
Responsible for overseeing compliance of divisional management of:
  • Storeroom
  • Scooter/Bike maintenance
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Occupational Health and Safety and Security
  • Identifying potential problems or challenges and suggesting corrective action
Education
  • Relevant qualification: Matric
Advantageous
  • Specimen handling and transportation short course
  • Experiencing working in transportation of Laboratory specimen in eThekwini
Experience
  • At least two yearsxe2x80x99 experience
  • Management of specimens
  • Extensive knowledge of EThekwini district
  • Driverxe2x80x99s licence: Code A
