Job Description

Job Profile





To provide technical and operational support in planning, coordinating, and monitoring the irradiation of products in SAFARI-1 Reactor, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and client requirements. This role supports the Reactor Utilization & Planning Section by executing day-to-day tasks aligned with the organization's production schedules, client interface, and internal management systems.


Key Performance Areas




Ensure accurate scheduling and timely submission of irradiation requests to all stakeholders. Conduct trend analysis on irradiation results for continuous improvement and feedback loops. Maintain and update the Irradiation Request and Management System (IRMS). Maintain and regularly update the Irradiation Request and Management System (IRMS) to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency. Track and report on Silicon Consignment progress, ensuring timely returns. Compile and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual irradiation reports. Support the Section Head in monitoring attendance, sick leave, internet, and telephone usage. Assist the Section Head in overseeing attendance, sick leave, internet usage, and telephone activity. Assist in the implementation of individual development plans (IDPs). Track statutory training compliance and training attendance records. Coordinate Beam-line facility for the utilization of beam lines. Communicate with internal and external clients for timely receipt and clarification of irradiation reques Report product-related non-conformances and incidents to clients promptly. Coordinate and participate in monthly client meetings to review product statuses and feedback. Facilitate collaboration with beam-line facilities and ensure beam-time planning Comply with and support implementation of the SAFARI-1 SHEQ and IMS systems. Ensure adherence to Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) and Operational Excellence programs. Support budgeting processes, including OPEX tracking. Provide data for year-end (YE) and year-to-date (YTD) financial reviews.


JOB REQUIREMENTS




Key Knowledge and Skills




Basic understanding of nuclear science Knowledge on irradiations and calculations of yields Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate complex technical information and make informed decisions. Knowledge of quality management principles and practices, including the ability to develop and implement quality assurance programs.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:


BSc in Physics or Nuclear Sciences and Technology or similar science qualification. At least 2-3 years in a nuclear or production environment, preferably with reactor or irradiation scheduling experience.
