Purpose of Job

The candidate will conduct research primarily in the field of air quality management related to atmospheric emissions, dispersion modelling as well as conduct operational support on our gas clean-up plants.

Further responsibilities include: coordinator and/or technical track lead of less complex Operations support projects within Research and Technology (R&T); Support to Research projects within the parameters of the Sasol R&T Project Governance principals; Accountable for scoping and executing defined research activities and ensuring integrity of own experimental work and recommendations; Assess alternative scientific solutions by synthesizing literature knowledge with experimental data and drawing conclusions; Build up know-how in specific knowledge area, while working flexibly across wider department to deliver on priority projects.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

Lead and implement value added scientific solutions under some guidance. xe2x80xa2 Execute projects within time, budget and to business and quality requirements; while adhering to SHE, portfolio management, technology governance, IP and other business systems/requirements. xe2x80xa2 Maintain scientific standard of excellence and expand own understanding across technologies in discipline (e.g., literature, patents, technology landscape, conferences) and advance body of knowledge within technology area. xe2x80xa2 Participate in the formulation of alternative solutions to business support and product / process development projects. xe2x80xa2 Capture research outputs in written format to facilitate knowledge management and preserve technical knowhow across team boundaries. xe2x80xa2 Ensure adherence to Sasol governance and risk management policies, including safety xe2x80xa2 Support the Sasol vision and values xe2x80xa2 Take lead in ensuring quality (precision & accuracy) and speed of delivery of project tasks in collaboration with Chemist and Technicians. xe2x80xa2 Expand knowledge of Sasol value chain, technology/knowledge area xe2x80xa2 Develop own understanding of portfolio management, technology governance, IP and other business systems/requirements xe2x80xa2 Take responsibility for personal performance, development and skills development xe2x80xa2 Build and maintain relationships with peers within R&T, P&E, SBUs and ROHs. xe2x80xa2 Develop and maintain relevant 3rd Party networks. xe2x80xa2 Work constructively within multi-disciplinary SGF and SGL project team xe2x80xa2 Represent Sasol with professionalism in external engagements (3rd party feedback sessions, conferences, etc)
