Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.



N2 Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical is required.



Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Scale Technician.



Willingness to work overtime on weekends and pucblic holidays, as well as working shifts.



Effective communication skills.



Organisational, problem-solving and coordination skills.



Accuracy and attention to detail.



Ability to work in a high-pressure, cold, wet, and fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintaining and servicing of weighing equipment in the company.



Ensure all weighing equipment complies with the internal quality standards.



Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly scale verification checks using certified test weights.



Support food safety systems by ensuring scale accuracy for yield control and product labeling.



Assist with inspections as per the job card issued.



Assist with daily paperwork before end of shift (e.g. inspection sheets, job cards, etc.).



Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs to minimize production downtime.



Assist with installation measures to reduce downtime.



Assist with any other work or breakdowns as instructed by the foreman or maintenance manager.



Any other ad hoc maintenance duties.
