to oversee all scaffolding activities on site. You will manage teams, ensure compliance with safety regulations, SANS & ISO standards, and guarantee that work is completed efficiently in petrochemical or high-risk industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise scaffolding teams during erection, dismantling, and modification of scaffolds.
Assign tasks and monitor team performance and productivity.
Coordinate with construction, mechanical, HSE, and HR teams to ensure smooth workflow.
Review work plans, drawings, and technical specifications.
Conduct daily inspections of scaffolds, equipment, and materials.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, SANS & ISO standards, and site requirements.
Maintain accurate records of scaffolding activities, inspections, and maintenance logs.
Mentor team members and conduct toolbox talks on safe scaffolding practices.
Support planning, scheduling, and reporting activities with the Construction Manager.
Qualifications & Certifications:
Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
Advanced Scaffolding Supervision or Safety Management Certification
Valid Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry Certificates
Valid Scaffold Erector and Supervisor Certificate
Valid Driver's License
Experience:
2-5 years' experience in scaffolding supervision, preferably in petrochemical or industrial environments.
Experience coordinating with construction, mechanical, HSE, and HR teams.
Exposure to fuel terminals, refineries, tank repair, refurbishment, or piping installation is preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong understanding of scaffolding systems, SANS 10085-1, and site safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and scaffold designs.
Competent in risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work systems.
Excellent leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation abilities.
