SAP Project Manager - SAP SuccessFactors HR Implementation (Contract) South Africa/Hybrid
Our client requires the services of a SAP Project Manager - SAP SuccessFactors HR Implementation to lead the delivery of a large-scale SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) implementation as part of a broader strategic business and IT transformation programme.
This role is responsible for end-to-end project delivery, including third-party system integrations, integration platform design and development, and ensuring alignment with SAP S/4HANA requirements. The Project Manager will provide strong leadership across multiple project streams, ensuring governance, risk management, and successful adoption of the solution across multiple operating regions.
Contract Details:

  • Working Model: Hybrid
  • Assignment: Contract role for initial 6 months (possibility of renewal).
  • Commencement: As soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
SAP SuccessFactors Integration Project Management
  • Own and ensure the overall success of the SAP SuccessFactors HR implementation programme.
  • Lead project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure across all workstreams.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with Steering Committee mandates, strategic objectives, and business outcomes.
Governance, Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
  • Interface between the project team and governance structures, including Steering Committees and executive stakeholders.
  • Provide governance oversight across scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, resources, and compliance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, system integrators, and third-party vendors to mitigate delivery risk.
  • Report project progress, risks, and issues to executive forums and operating committees.
Integration & Technical Oversight
  • Evaluate existing integration flows between SAP SuccessFactors and third-party systems.
  • Plan, design, and oversee the replacement of legacy interfaces with modern integrations via enterprise integration platforms (e.g. SAP BTP, Flowgear or equivalent).
  • Coordinate parallel payroll testing and validation activities across multiple regions.
  • Plan and manage the decommissioning of legacy interfaces to ensure system and business stability.
  • Ensure SAP SuccessFactors integration aligns with SAP S/4HANA and enterprise architecture standards.
Change Management & Business Readiness
  • Support organisational change management activities related to system implementation and adoption.
  • Provide input into impact assessments for system and process changes.
  • Ensure solution architects and functional leads are enabled to support business readiness and go-live execution.
  • Facilitate data preparation, data quality, and data migration readiness activities with business leads.
Quality & Delivery Assurance
  • Establish and maintain robust project governance structures, processes, and controls.
  • Ensure compliance with PMO delivery standards, stage-gate reviews, and assurance requirements.
  • Participate in enterprise governance forums including architecture boards, change approval boards, and design authorities.
  • Review and track project deliverables, milestones, and quality outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
  • IT Diploma or Degree or equivalent qualification.
Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP SuccessFactors implementations.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in project or programme management.
  • Strong experience delivering SaaS-based enterprise solutions.
  • Technical background with exposure to system integration landscapes and platforms.

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise project management tools and methodologies.
Leadership & Communication:
  • Strong stakeholder engagement across executive, business, and technical teams.
  • Ability to influence, motivate, and align diverse teams and vendors.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and facilitate alignment between business and technical requirements.
