Job Description

We are looking for an organised, detail-oriented Sample Preparation Technician to join our team. Based in Stellenbosch, this entry-level position offers the chance to develop your scientific skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sample Management:

Accurately receiving, checking, and logging all incoming samples into our system.

Sample Preparation:

Carefully preparing and weighing samples for analysis according to strict laboratory procedures.

Inventory & Stock:

Assisting with inventory counts and managing laboratory consumables.

Equipment:

Performing checks and basic routine maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure it functions correctly.

Data & Admin:

Meticulously capturing data and maintaining accurate records of all work.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualification: A National Senior Certificate (Matric / Grade 12) is essential.

Advantageous Subjects: A pass in Mathematics and/or Physical Sciences or Life Sciences is highly preferred.

Experience: No formal work experience is required as full training will be provided.

Interest: A genuine, demonstrable interest in working in a technical or scientific environment.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

Exceptional accuracy and a very high level of attention to detail. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Must be reliable and punctual. Self-motivated with the initiative to learn and take ownership of your tasks. The ability to work well under pressure and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines. Good interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written). Basic computer literacy (e.g., email, MS Office).
