Sales Specialist: Genomics & Biobanking (JHB) (LC_742) Scientific (Sales)
ESSENTIALS
BSc Hons / MSc / PhD in Biotechnology / Molecular Biology PLUS at least 3 yrs independent, hands-on LAB experience in qPCR (+ Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) is preferred). Two years working in an external sales role, with outstanding communication & presentation skills in English. SA citizen, with valid drivers license (Code B) & own vehicle + valid passport.
Location: Based in Randburg, Johannesburg (Travel is integral to this position)

DETAILS
A well renowned & established SA distributor of high-quality instrumentation, consumables and lab solutions are recruiting for a technically qualified & experienced Salesperson in their Molecular Biology, Genomics & Biobanking division.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business development and sales, visiting customers, conducting presentations & demonstrations, & providing high quality after sales service and support within their region (Midrand, Centurion & KZN (every 3-4 weeks)). The product ranges include instruments and consumables related to PCR, Next Generation sequencing, Capillary sequencing, Microarray genotyping, Biobanking and high throughput lab automation instrumentation (incl. robotic DNA/RNA extraction equipment) for high throughput labs. The core responsibility for this role is to achieve sales targets, by actively calling on & visiting customers, using the tools & systems available to report, plan and strategize performance to drive sales. The role is well supported by solid company infrastructure which includes an existing customer base, strong team dynamic & leadership, an excellent product range and experienced Application Specialists and Field Service Engineers. Travel is integral to the position.
REQUIREMENTS

• BSc Hons/ MSc / PhD in Molecular Biology or related life science
• 3 years independent lab experience using in qPCR (with NGS experience preferred)
• Knowledge & practical experience in PCR, CE Sequencing, Genomics, Biobanking, etc.
• 2 years External Sales / Customer Service experience in the same industry
• Outstanding communication & presentation skills (in English)
• Strategic thinker, self-motivated, goal driven, problem solver
• Professional personal presentation & ability to work independently
• Willing to travel with a drivers license (Code B), own vehicle + valid SA ID
