An experienced Sales Representative is required to join a reputable company within the FMCG industry. This dynamic, permanent, full-time role is ideal for a motivated and personable individual with a passion for client engagement and business development.
The Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales growth by establishing and nurturing strong relationships with customers in the food sector. The successful candidate will focus on promoting the plant's product range, identifying new business opportunities, and consistently achieving set sales targets. They will act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and care, while also supporting the company's broader revenue and market expansion objectives.
Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development:
Actively prospect, identify, and secure new customers while maintaining and growing existing accounts
Present and promote company products to potential and existing customers
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve or exceed sales targets
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities
Customer Relationship Management:
Serve as the main point of contact for customer inquiries, orders, and service needs
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
Conduct regular customer visits to understand needs and provide solutions
Address customer concerns promptly and collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues
Order Processing and Coordination:
Prepare and submit accurate sales orders and contracts
Coordinate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely product delivery
Monitor order status and communicate updates to customers
Process customer requests for samples, specifications, and product information
Market Intelligence and Reporting:
Gather and report customer feedback, market trends, and competitive intelligence
Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in CRM system
Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management
Participate in sales meetings and strategy sessions
Product Knowledge and Promotion:
Maintain expert knowledge of company products, pricing, and value propositions
Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to customers
Attend trade shows and industry events to promote company products
Collaborate with marketing team to develop sales tools and promotional materials
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of sales experience in food processing, manufacturing, or related industry
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong understanding of food industry trends, customers, and competitors
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients at all organisational levels
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to travel within assigned territory (up to 50%)
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • Achievement of monthly/quarterly sales targets
  • Number of new accounts acquired
  • Growth of existing accounts
  • Customer satisfaction and retention rates
  • Accuracy and timeliness of sales reporting
Working Conditions:
  • Combination of office work and field sales activities
