Job Description


Our client in the Manufacturing industry is currently looking for a Sales Representative, in Modderfontein.

Responsibilities:

  • Grow the business.
  • Sell the companyxe2x80x99s products through all suitable channels possible xe2x80x93 specific focus on Prolong sales.
  • Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales and financial targets and any additional targets which may be set by the company from time to time (new accounts, non-billing accounts, key products, call activity etc).
  • Develop sales action plans relating to product, brand, geographic area and sales channel in order to ensure that set targets are achieved and exceeded (as required).
  • Regular meetings and feedback to/from chain head offices with regards to stock holding, sales performance, issues etc (as required).
  • Build relationships with Head Office Buyers, Heads of Departments and Merchandisers, Service Providers and Regional Agents.
  • Regular inspection of merchandising, the condition of products, POS material and displays.
  • Maximize sales opportunities using seasonal and special promotions.
  • Proactively identify changes in the paint industry and competitive pressures to develop and modify strategies and tactics accordingly.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and increase the number and depth of active accounts. Generate new business and rejuvenate lost business.
  • Acquire referrals and engage in networking activities.
  • Upsell and cross sell products to maximize revenue.
  • Manage customers from acquisition, through maintenance and growth, with the emphasis on attention to detail, value add and service delivery.
  • Have a full understanding of customer needs and requirements.
  • Have a broad understanding of the customers industry and business.
  • Ensure that specific customer requirements are clearly communicated to the responsible company staff and fully understood at point of order.
  • Maintains sales volume, product mix, selling price and GP by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  • Ensure that the correct pricing is implemented at all customers and ensure the effective roll out of annual/periodic price increases to customers within their geographic area of responsibility.
  • Ensure that the pricing strategy and relevant price lists are fully understood and ensure that they are utilised appropriately.
  • Be an ambassador of the companyxe2x80x99s brands and products.
  • Adhere to the internal sales processes and procedures and specified by the company.
  • Full understanding of the companyxe2x80x99s systems and processes and the management of day-to-day activity relating to customer account.
  • Ensure that company processes are always understood and adhered to.
  • Responsible for customer service levels within the geographic area.
  • Become the main day-to-day point of contact (primary contact point) between the customer and the company.
  • Take ownership of all customer problems and complaints, ensuring that they are effectively and efficiently handled and closed-off.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable sales ability and sales track record (non-negotiable).
  • Hunter.
  • Demonstrable ability to generate and close new business.
  • Retail sales, hardware experience or coatings experience beneficial. Hardware and Allied Product industry experience beneficial.
  • Solid understanding of the retail (reseller market) beneficial.
  • Ability to operate within hardware store, industrial and end user environment.
  • Own dependable transport essential.
  • Must reside within East Rand area (Boksburg, Kempton Park, Germiston, Alberton areas).
  • Strong personality, high energy levels and self-driven.
  • Mature and responsible demeanour.
  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • High degree of professionalism and conduct at all times.
  • Friendly demeanour and good interpersonal skills.
  • Sales and profit driven.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
Remuneration and Benefits:
  • Basic of R6 500 per month.
  • Car Allowance of R4 000 per month.
  • Communication Allowance of R400 per month.
  • Fuel Allowance of R3 678 per month.
  • Pension.
  • Monthly commission.
  • 6 monthly performance bonuses.
