We are excited to announce an opportunity for a passionate and results-driven Sales Representative to join our Food Service Commercial Team and take responsibility for developing the CPT / JHB market for the American Beverage Marketers (ABM) range of premium cocktail mixes and culinary ingredients inclusive of accelerated sales growth and increased visibility of Brand.
In this role, you will partner with liquor distributors to drive business growth and support end customers through engaging training, brand education, and marketing initiatives across all channels, with a strong focus on the Out-of-Home (OOH) Food Service sector. You'll spend significant time in trade, showcasing our premium range and cultivating lasting customer relationships. Your background in HORECA, Beverage, or Liquor sales--combined with hands-on mixology or bar experience--will be key to your success. We're seeking someone who blends passion for the bar industry with commercial acumen and brand-building expertise to deliver outstanding results.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
Regional Duties & responsibilities
Achieve the annual Sales Budget as per targets
Provide accurate Sales Forecasts and allocate appropriate stock covers by region within set time frames (and by the customer)
Co-ordinate and deliver quarterly business reviews with the ABM and Rialto FS Teams
Attend weekly Food Service commercial meeting.
Make sure pricing and deals are in line with company standards.
Manage marketing costs and drive continuous improvement
Regional Market knowledge
Assess competitor activities and pricing
Gather and provide relevant information to contribute to Sales and Marketing activities
Identify market gaps and new customer opportunities
Deliver customer-specific activation sales plans and commercial proposals
Work closely with Food Service sales teams to brief, support and monitor field activation efforts
Liquors Distributor Relations
Develop new distributors and manage account applications and negotiate rebate and end pricing within internal parameters
Manage all operational activities within the channel (promotions, price increases, deals, listings)
Maintain stock levels on shelf and with distributors
Understand stock levels in Dc's to manage customer expectations
Analyse data and update sales activities and action plans
Monthly sales reviews to be done with growth plans discussed
Trade/customer visits planned with distributors' sales reps
Manage the stock return process with distributors
End Customer Relations
Actively pursue new business opportunities
Build strong relationships with bar staff, managers and hospitality influencers to secure listings and brand preference.
Plan customer monthly call sheet
Monitor and review customer activity plans
Conduct engaging bartender training sessions and tastings that drive advocacy and elevate product knowledge
Plan a communication strategy for all customers and adopt a proactive customer engagement strategy
Lead activation strategies across all trade channels
Investigate product-related complaints
National Accounts
Support regional locations to ensure the desired sales targets are achieved
Support with works shops and training with regional managers to achieve quality control in all locations
Trade Events & Exhibitions
Co-ordinate exhibition launches, trade shows, digital media collaboration with Food Service marketing, briefing meetings and functions
Arrange special events (internal and external)
Prepare exhibition designs, assemble, install and dismantle exhibition stands
Control and maintain venue equipment and assets
Exhibit company products
Present and communicate product Features, Advantages and Benefits (FABS) to the end customer
Take transfer orders from end-users and pass them on to Distributors
Evaluate the success of activations through reporting tools and ROI.
REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Minimum requirement - Grade 12 (Matric)
Tertiary education relating to sales will be a huge advantage
3-5 years' experience in sales within a Food Service Channel
Barmen or Mixology experience
Required to work flexible hours and must have own reliable transport
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
