SALES & MARKETING INTERN [FIXED-TERM CONTRACT]
Location: Cape Town
Our client based in Cape Town is looking for a Sales and Marketing Intern to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy & Promotions, Product & Operational Support

• Support the Brand Manager in planning and executing marketing activities.
• Assist in creating promotional calendars and implementing key marketing actions.
• Contribute ideas in brainstorming sessions.
• Assist with setting up projects and distributing instructions to stores.
• Help prepare launch presentations, samples, and merchandising materials.
• Update competitor pricing analysis.
• Assist in preparing price increase schedules.
• Help prepare strategy meetings and presentations for retailers.
• Keep strategy sheets updated and support administrative tasks.
• Manage SKU data on Syspro, including new product codes and price updates.
• Liaise with online retail partners.
• Support inventory forecasting.
• Conduct price audits on competitors.
• Communicate with retailers and store staff.
• Track and follow up on press pack distributions.

PR & Media Management

• Distribute press releases, samples, and promotional materials.
• Compile press kits and monitor media coverage.
• Assist in organising PR events.
• Maintain and update brand social media pages and platforms.
• Track social media activity and submit monthly reports.
• Keep brand websites updated and explore new apps to enhance engagement.

Sales Support

• Visit stores twice a week to support retail sales.
• Train and motivate store staff.
• Address store queries and liaise with head office on returns and orders.
• Strengthen relationships with store staff and management.

Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications.
• Drivers license and own vehicle (role requirement due to travelling for work two days a week)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
• Attention to detail, with numerical competency.
• Ability to work independently, be self-organised and use initiative.
• Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and deal with all work levels.
• Strong service orientation.
• Team player.
• Ability and willingness to work varying hours to meet deadlines.
