The Opportunity
We're looking for a Sales Manager to join the leadership team and take ownership of managing and scaling a high-performing sales organization.
This role sits between the Head of Sales and the Account Management team, providing structure, accountability, and coaching to drive consistent performance across pods (Account Manager + Account Executive).
The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on -- able to lead people, shape deals, analyze data, and continually optimize the sales process and client journey.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Performance Management
Lead and mentor a team of Account Managers and their supporting Account Executives.
Set and manage clear performance targets tied to revenue, conversion, and pipeline metrics.
Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and pipeline audits to ensure focus and accountability.
Build a culture of excellence, motivation, and continuous improvement.
2. Deal Coaching & Sales Execution
Provide active coaching on deal strategy, proposal positioning, and pricing alignment.
Support team members in complex negotiations and high-value opportunities.
Review key deals to ensure strategic alignment, client satisfaction, and margin protection.
Help shape messaging, objection handling, and closing techniques across pods.
3. Customer Journey & Process Optimization
Map, analyze, and refine the client journey from initial inquiry to signed proposal.
Identify inefficiencies or friction points in follow-up cadence, communication, or handoffs.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, and Engineering to improve systems (HubSpot, PandaDoc, Fathom, etc.) and process flow.
Implement consistent sales standards and best practices across teams.
4. Training & Development
Coach Account Managers and AEs in consultative selling, discovery, and pipeline management.
Identify skill gaps and implement targeted training plans.
Partner with the Head of Sales on onboarding, call scoring, and role-specific performance frameworks.
5. Forecasting & Reporting
Own weekly and monthly performance reporting for assigned teams.
Maintain CRM integrity (HubSpot): ensure accurate pipeline stages, deal data, and follow-ups.
Forecast revenue performance and flag risks early with data-driven insights.
What You Bring
5+ years of experience in a sales management or leadership role.
Proven success managing remote or hybrid sales teams across time zones.
Deep understanding of sales funnels, performance metrics, and CRM-based management (HubSpot preferred).
Strong coaching ability -- you know how to elevate performance through people, not just numbers.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Analytical mindset and ability to turn data into actionable insights.
