Sales Manager (PPA) - An Opportunity in Renewable Energy Awaits!

Are you passionate about the world of renewable energy? My client is on a mission to make a sustainable impact, harnessing the power of wind, solar, hydro, biomass, and storage. My Client is not just producers; we're enablers, providing top-notch services to third-party clients, including Development, EPC, O&M, and Distribution. What You'll Do:

As a key player in our Power Sales division, you'll embark on a journey of business excellence, focusing on:

Strategic Business Development:

  • Craft innovative strategies and action plans to forge fresh connections and drive inquiries.
  • Dive into internal and external events, from conferences to round tables, and explore fruitful partnerships.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with our internal teams to expertly handle incoming inquiries, shaping the future through qualifications of RfIs, RFQs, and private or public tenders.
  • You'll be the first face prospects and clients see, ensuring their needs are heard and understood.
Championing Power Sales:
  • Take the helm in the origination of long-term, asset-backed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), both onsite and offsite.
  • Craft compelling commercial offers and lead the charge in commercial negotiations, ensuring the success of PPAs for each new renewable project.
  • Keep a watchful eye on the evolving renewable energy landscape, from consumer trends to service innovations, offer structures, and market competition.
Mastering Contracting:
  • Lead the charge in contract negotiations with corporate or utility off-takers, traders, and other key stakeholders.
  • Navigate the complex contract closing and validation processes, expertly overseeing Contract Committees and Investment Committees.
  • Uphold our commitment to quality through meticulous customer and third-party verification, including KYC and Risk Credit assessments.
Strategic Organization:
  • Dive deep into the national rules and energy regulations, staying ahead of economic and social changes that influence renewable projects and the electricity market.
  • Be an integral part of the development and structuring of innovative offerings tailored to the unique idiosyncrasies of the UK market.
Reporting and Innovation:
  • Drive performance with robust sales reporting, complete with essential KPIs that track realized actions.
  • Keep everyone in the loop by continuously updating the status of offers in progress and those under preparation.
  • Dive into KPIs to identify critical insights and chart the course for corrective actions and adaptive strategies.
Requirements for Success:
  • You bring a business school or Engineering/Economics Master's degree to the table.
  • Your passion for the energy and commodity industry and your dedication to business development set you apart.
  • With a minimum of 7-8 years of experience in the UK power market or the renewable sector, you're no stranger to the industry.
  • Your commercial prowess and strong connections within corporate off-takers in the UK market give you an edge.
  • You're well-versed in contract execution, ideally corporate PPA, encompassing structuring, tendering, contracting, and management.
  • Your profound knowledge of economic and regulatory conditions in the wholesale and physical electricity markets in the UK is unmatched.
  • MS Office is your playground, and you excel in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Your verbal and written skills in English are second to none.

Salary and Benefits:

The compensation package for this role includes a monthly salary of 100,000 South African Rand (RSA) along with bonuses, benefits, a pension plan, and medical coverage.

Location: Cape Town, South Africa.
