Primary purpose of the job is Sales & Business development activities for Measurement Solutions (Pressure, Temp, Analyzer, Flow and Level Field Instrumentation, Wireless products) in Metals and Mining Industry within South Africa and Southern African Countries. This position is intended to drive traditional Measurement Solutions technology conversation, competitive displacement, new applications and technology adoption/acceptance of the Emerson products/solutions to grow business in the metals & Mining sector!
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Sales, Business development, support project pursuit initiatives, to meet or exceed BU financial Targets for Metals & Mining industry.
Uncover growth opportunities and handle all the Sales opportunities in identified Metals & Mining Accounts (Mining Customers, EPC's / System Integrators) for Measurement Solutions products in South Africa, Southern and East African countries.
Understand the applications, challenges and specific needs for field instrumentation in the Metals & Mining industry and align with customers' specific challenges to recommend the right products from Emerson Measurement solutions.
Participate in developing and completing sales strategies to penetrate new customers, projects and Spares opportunities. Maintain an accurate project pursuit list, monthly sales forecast from identified Metals & Mining Accounts.
Provide monthly reports and forecasts to Sales Director and meet the sales target forecasted for each month
Improve Business group and customer happiness by meeting end user to understand, communicate and performing solutions to their needs.
Collaborate with other regional MSOL sales individuals, Product Managers, LBPs and cross BU resources across south Africa, Southern and East Africa - as needed -, work closely with Emerson & LBP proposal generation groups to ensure all offers reflect customer needs, competitively priced and are submitted on time.
Liaise with customers, Emerson teams and LBPs to prioritize effort, capture competitive intelligence and improve customer service, consistent with Business Group's sales strategies and Key Account Plans
Keep up to date with developments and trends in products, industries and market conditions.
Prepare and present marketing forecasts, pricing surveys, competitor intelligence and country marketing plans partnering with the Regional Managers or Country leaders.
Work closely with other Emerson Business groups like System& Software, ISV, DISC etc to enhance pull-through content and identify white spaces.
Support strengthening existing and develop new Business Group relationships, and develop new relationships with customer or third-party personnel (i.e., regulatory, legal agencies, customer technical boards, consultants, buying house etc.) who may influence and make buying decisions.
Fulfill any other reasonable duties as required
Ensure adherence to local and international Emerson trade compliance procedures in connection with all transactions and business practices

Problem Solving:
For this Role, You Will Need:
Engineering degree or relevant work experience
Minimum 10 years' experience in Sales and Marketing with at least 5 years of selling Field Instrumentation (Pressure/Temp transmitters, Flow meters, Level measurement and Analyzers) experience to Metals & Mining customers/end users.
Knowledge and situational Fluency of Metals & Mining Industry
