Previous experience selling into Africa is essential
Experience in controlling the logistics and movement of stock will be required for this role
Must have a solid understanding of steel pricing and customers within Africa
Must have a good understanding of the technical capabilities of steel grades
Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel locally and internationally
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Manage all sales related activities.
Import steel from international suppliers and steel mills.
Obtain offers from various international steel mills.
Source buyers and secure sales.
Manage the logistics for the landing of products in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Ensure a solid understanding of the full spectrum of steel grades and types.
Provide technical product development in conjunction with customers.
Manage all related activities in the Johannesburg Branch Office.
Ensure enquiries received from customers in the steel market are attended to and resolved.
Ensure confirmed orders are turned into sales contracts.
Arrange deliveries and communicate confirmations of shipping.
Build strong customer and supplier relationships.
Conduct market analysis on pricing together with market research.
