Have you got a passion for selling and leading teams? Because we are on the lookout for an experienced Generics Detail Sales Manager.

Purpose of the role:

Managing a team of 10 detail sales representatives nationally calling on general practitioners, specialists, and pharmacies. Achieving divisional targets and operational expectations.

Your key responsibilities will include, but is not limited to:

  • Manage a team of generics details sales representatives to achieve regional and divisional targets.
  • Implementation of division sales and marketing strategies.
  • Establish an environment and foundation for future sales growth.
  • Directs the selling activities within the region, inclusive of resource deployment and customer interactions.
  • Effective management of resources, e.g., money, stock, time, systems, sales tools, etc.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key customers.
  • Efficient and constructive customer problem solving.
  • Responsible for the region's forecasting and sales tracking.
  • Analysis and reporting of regional and national sales.
  • Evaluate market trends and gather competitive information, identify trends that affect current and future growth of regional sales and profitability.
  • Disseminate information to the team to support the implementation of the marketing strategy.
  • Coach and develop the generics detail team.
  • Provide quality leadership inclusive of facilitating creative improvements and inspiring others.
  • Sells and teaches how to sell value and solutions to the business's customers.
  • Leads the representatives inclusive of managing performance, coaching, mentoring, hiring and career development in accordance with the business's policies and procedures.
  • Measure team competence against job needs analysis.
  • Develop the team with optimal knowledge and skills with the talent management process.
  • Manage individual development with performance management process.
Skills required:
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Sound technical knowledge and insight.

Educational requirements:
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification.
Experience required:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Detail Sales manager.
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • Thorough knowledge of the pharmaceutical market.
