Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / Matric Bachelor of Sciences in Agriculture with practical experience
  • A management qualification would be considered favourable
Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior sales role is essential
  • An agronomic and irrigation background covering most of the listed crops
  • Delivering sales by developing relationships with clients
  • Identifying and reporting on business opportunities in target markets
  • Increasing market share in existing markets and maximising new business development opportunities
  • Acting as an ambassador and role model for your business
  • Developing strategy, tactics, sales plans, and profit targets
  • Achieving targets for revenue, profitability, and sales growth
  • Providing direction to the sales department
Duties
  • Plan and implement marketing strategy, including advertising and PR
  • Plan and implement sales and customer retention and development
  • Plan and manage sales of marketing resources according to agreed budgets
  • Drive agronomically sound, proof-selling strategies
  • Manage Value-add activities and promote Solution marketing
  • Contribute to the formulation of policy and strategy
  • Manage the interface between sales and support functions, including Supply Chain, Finance, SHERQ, Technical and Business Development departments to ensure that sales outputs are optimal at all times
  • Recruit, manage, train, and motivate directly reporting staff according to company procedures, policy and employment law
  • Maintain administrative functions and relevant reporting and planning systems
  • Manage relevant reporting of management and financial information for the sales and marketing departments
  • Select and manage external sales agencies
  • Maintain and develop corporate image and reputation
  • Protect and develop the company's brands via suitable PR activities and intellectual property management
  • Plan and manage internal communication and awareness of corporate direction, mission, aims and activities
  • Willingness to travel
