Sales Engineer (Mechanical / Hydraulic) - Cape Town.

Are you a technically minded Sales Engineer residing in the greater Cape Town area? This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, identifying customer needs within the manufacturing sector, and providing tailored mechanical and hydraulic solutions.



Experience in Sales and Engineering insight is required and will suit someone confident engaging with clients, interpreting technical requirements and translating them into practical, value-driven solutions.



Salary: Basic salary, car allowance, fuel card, mobile phone and laptop, contribution toward medical aid, pension fund.



Work hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:30 and Friday 07:30 to 15:30.

Requirements:

Matric, or relevant qualification Minimum 5 years' technical sales experience Experience selling to various industries including power utilities, refineries/petrochemical, steel, water/wastewater, pulp/paper, automotive, food and beverage, and general industrial clients Experience with SAGE Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook Excellent communication skills People-oriented personality Able to work independently and within a team

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage and develop business to increase sales margins and meet budget requirements Provide high-level customer service related to product sales, including accurate and timely processing of quotations and orders Maintain and build relationships with customers through effective communication and client liaison skills Record, analyse, report, and administer sales activities using CRM systems Attend regular client visits to aid in business development Read and understand technical drawings and product data sheets Handle all aspects of sales, including obtaining enquiries and tenders, putting together quotations, and converting them to orders Provide support and training on pumps and associated equipment as required Solve problems and provide technical information to customers Liaise with consultants, project houses, and end-users Track and expedite orders through the system and provide customer updates on order progress * Attend project meetings to support sales activities
