To always maintain and grow existing cargo and endeavoring to obtain new business and to always ensure a growing market share.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Negotiate freight tariffs with clients. All rated to confirmed in writing with all correct information i.e. correct freight information, routings, transit times, pre-carriages and on-carriages.
  • Studying of monthly stats and market reports. Follow up and action where required by the Manager and Trade Managers.
  • Updating of client profiles after every client visit as well as updating contact information in the client profiles.
  • Follow up on new sales leads and source new business.
  • Liaise with all departments i.e. Export Client Services, Outward Freight, Trade debtors and Accounts with regards to outstanding payments / client queries / complaints and the resolution thereof.
  • Pre-Plan calls for the following week to be sent to sales secretary on a weekly basis no later than Monday morning.
  • Where required assisting in collecting of freight, demurrage as well as any other funds outstanding by the client.
