Our client in the Indiustrial industry is currently looking for a Sales Consultant, in Midrand.
Responsibilities:
Sales and growth in market share.
Call plans and sales strategy implemented.
Margins managed.
Pricing as per agreed guidelines.
Customer calls and emails are responded to, and associated quotes are prepared.
Customer queries and problems resolved.
Increased sales volumes achieved within the allocated sales area.
New listings and sales targets achieved as per sales plan.
Customers are advised on new product lines.
Customers called regularly with a view to building relationships.
Calls and sales volumes recorded on standard report sheets.
Sales documentation processed such as sales orders, invoices and delivery documentation.
Weekly and monthly sales reports submitted on time.
Customer details maintained on their customer database.
Company credit policies and trading limits adhered to.
New business initiated as per targets.
Leads followed up and feedback was provided to Senior Managers.
Proactive customer calling to build relationships and seek out opportunities for sales.
Documentation required for the opening of new accounts to be completed and followed up on.
Product knowledge and ability to advise customers based on their needs.
Stock takes conducted regularly.
Forecast and stock management.
Maintain and develop productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years experience in the Metals industry (preferably stainless steel and/or high nickel alloys), experience selling both long and flat products.
Diploma/Degree in Sales.
Qualification: Minimum Matric with a post-graduate qualification in Sales/Marketing or Technical advantage.
Experience in international trade, both sea freight and air freight costing.
Understanding of foreign currency purchasing and Incoterms.
Ability to problem-solve.
Knowledge of materials processing is an advantage.
Strong communication skills.
Self-motivated.
Target-driven, with a proven track record.
Ability to work in a pressurised environment.
Strong self-management practices.
Excellent telephone manner.
High degree of competency in all Microsoft Office applications.
Detail-orientated and accuracy.
Report writing.
Strong numeracy skills required and understanding of markup and gross profit concepts and calculations.
