through both online and in-person outreach, while also efficiently managing inbound inquiries within our designated regions.
Role Overview
This is a hybrid role:
??SDR (Sales Development Representative) Responsibilities:
Identify, research, and prospect new SME merchants in South Africa.
Assist Sales Manager and conduct outreach through cold calling, emailing to generate interest.
Run regular campaigns from Hubspot to warm up leads.
Qualify leads by understanding business size, technical setup, and payment needs.
Nurture relationships and set up discovery meetings for Sales Managers or close smaller deals directly.
Maintain high activity levels daily to ensure a healthy pipeline.
??Sales Associate Responsibilities:
Own and grow a portfolio of SME merchants ( 500K - 1M), meeting acquisition and revenue growth targets.
Assist any merchant under 500K that cannot go through the automation onboarding process due to pricing and other reasons.
Answer Sales incoming calls and action.
Execute tailored sales strategies for key verticals such as retail, hospitality, e-commerce, and education.
Build strong relationships with merchants and partners, focusing on trust and long-term growth.
Understand merchant technical needs (e-commerce integrations, APIs, payment options) and position Peach solutions effectively.
Engage with Product, Marketing and Operations teams to support customer research and support
??You will be expected to:
Prospect SME merchants through outbound cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other outreach methods.
Qualify inbound leads, identify merchant needs, and hand over or close opportunities.
Support the SME sales team with administrative and coordination activities.
understand the technical needs of our merchants and building strategies and tactics to drive growth, adoption, and advocacy for Peach Payments.
Competencies: What You Bring:
This is a pivotal role for someone who enjoys prospecting and selling, but also has the organisation and detail focus to keep the sales engine running smoothly
5+ years of experience
in B2B sales, with a strong emphasis on both administration and sales
A master of consultative selling
, with a history of closing complex deals and exceeding ambitious targets
Exceptional pipeline management skills
and the ability to accurately forecast and report on sales performance
A self-starter
who thrives in a high-growth, "scale-up" environment and can operate with a high degree of autonomy
