Job Description

The Spares and Stock Supervisor is responsible for managing vehicle spares, tools, and stock levels to ensure efficient workshop and fleet operations. The role includes inventory control, stock procurement, issuing of parts, record keeping, and ensuring cost control and availability of critical spares within a transport or fleet environment.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain accurate stock levels of all transport-related spares. Perform stock counts, audits, and ensure proper storage, labelling, and organisation. Track and record all parts issued to mechanics and vehicles. Procure truck, trailer, and equipment spares at competitive prices while building strong supplier relationships and negotiating terms. Ensure timely delivery of correct spares to mechanics and adjust stock levels based on usage. Collaborate with the workshop team to forecast parts requirements. Record all transactions in inventory systems and maintain accurate documentation for audits. Prepare reports on stock usage, costs, and variances. Manage warranties, returns, and defective spares. Ensure all spares meet OEM specifications and follow OHS/SHEQ standards.
Requirements

Matric (Grade 12) - essential Certificate/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Mechanical Studies, or related field (advantageous). Valid driver's license. 3-5 years experience in a transport/maintenance/workshop environment. Experience managing truck and trailer spares. Experience with stock control systems or inventory management software
