Key Responsibilities What's in it for you?
This role will provide you with the opportunity to translate and execute our global strategy into impactful initiatives on a local scale. You will be able to shape the narrative by developing operational plans, ensuring alignment with global goals, and integrating cutting-edge local policies. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, feeding into global programs and practices while owning crucial stakeholder relationships and igniting the Sage ecosystem, rallying everyone to achieve our volunteering and fundraising targets.

Summary of your day-to-day?
1. Own the translation and execution of our global Sage Foundation strategy in South Africa:

  • Develop and deliver an operational plan that delivers on our commitments
  • Ensure local initiatives contribute to global strategic goals and related KPIs, and that local strategies align with our global approach
  • Ensure local policy developments are proactively integrated into strategy
  • Feed into the development of global programmes and best practices
  • Own stakeholder relationships in region, including but not limited to the Country Manager, People lead, Head of Transformation
  • Identify and drive synergies across the Sustainability & Foundation teams
  • Own reporting, governance, measurement and evaluation
2. Engage the Sage ecosystem to deliver our volunteering and fundraising targets:
  • Own and deliver the annual operational plan to achieve our volunteering and fundraising targets - adapting and innovating to increase our contribution and impact
  • Work across the Sage Foundation team to connect our global partnerships to our South African initiatives and enhance our partner and customer ecosystem programs
  • Manage a local budget to achieve all of the above
3. Regional partnership and programme development:
  • Define and execute our regional partnership strategy in collaboration with the global team
  • Maximise and track impact delivered through our partnerships
  • On-going proactive relationship management to continually identify new or expanded opportunities to scale and amplify impact through collaboration
4. Lead the Sage Foundation Ambassador community in South Africa:
  • Lead the Ambassador team devoting their time to Sage Foundation in a voluntary capacity
  • Act as the link between the Ambassador community and the Sustainability & Sage Foundation team - ensuring people know how they are contributing, how they are valued and what success looks like
  • Manage the overall health of the Ambassador community - focusing on recruitment, retention and development as required
5. Be an engaged member of the global Sustainability and Sage Foundation team:
  • Contribute to our continuous improvement as a team - working on global projects (e.g data/impact improvements, programme development, global ambassador initiatives, etc.)
  • Play an active part in enhancing the reputation of Sustainability and Sage Foundation
Minimum qualifications
  • Experience and passion for shaping and working on sustainability and foundation strategies within a complex matrix environment
  • Experience of implementing strategic deliverables
  • A passion for data, with the ability to focus on what is material
  • Autonomous with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator
  • Excellent people manager skills with experience managing across countries and timezones
