Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and analytical Controller to lead all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls for a multi-location, vertically integrated pet products business. This role will be pivotal in managing inventory accounting across manufacturing plants, 3PL operations, and Amazon channels while ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing cost accounting, Amazon FBA/FBM/AWD financial management, and Sage 100 Cloud ERP, along with a passion for leveraging AI and automation tools to streamline financial processes. You will collaborate closely with executive leadership, operations, and supply chain teams to bring visibility, structure, and insight to a growing, data-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across manufacturing, fulfillment, and e-commerce divisions.
  • Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Oversee A/P, A/R, payroll, and banking operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Consolidate financial results from manufacturing facilities, 3PL partners, and Amazon marketplace operations.
  • Partner with leadership on financial reporting packages, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Inventory & Cost Accounting
  • Manage inventory and cost accounting across multiple facilities including molding plants, fulfillment centers, and Amazon warehouses.
  • Maintain accurate standard and actual cost accounting within Sage 100 Cloud.
  • Track production costs, landed costs per SKU, and reconcile inventory movements across all storage and fulfillment locations.
  • Provide real-time visibility into stock valuation, inventory turnover, and production costs.
  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to optimize cost efficiency and resource allocation.
Amazon Financial Management
  • Oversee all Amazon FBA/FBM/AWD financial activities, including settlement reconciliations, fees, reimbursements, and returns.
  • Manage advertising spend, promotional discounts, and freight/storage fee tracking.
  • Ensure accurate GAAP-compliant revenue recognition for Amazon transactions.
  • Provide detailed profitability and margin analyses by SKU, category, and channel.
  • Align accounting data with inbound shipments, replenishment schedules, and fulfillment operations.
Systems, Controls, Automation, and AI Utilization
  • Serve as the primary administrator for Sage 100 Cloud, ensuring integrity across accounting, manufacturing, and inventory modules.
  • Integrate Sage 100 Cloud with Amazon and 3PL systems using A2X, Webgility, or API-based solutions.
  • Implement and optimize AI-driven tools for reconciliation, forecasting, and process automation.
  • Develop dashboards and automated financial reports to enhance management visibility.
  • Strengthen internal controls, compliance, and audit readiness across all departments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team to align production planning, financial forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Collaborate with operations, logistics, and supply chain to improve inventory accuracy and cost controls.
  • Provide actionable insights into pricing strategy, margin enhancement, and product-level profitability.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing, e-commerce, or consumer goods sectors.
  • Proven expertise in inventory and cost accounting for multi-location or multi-entity operations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Sage 100 Cloud ERP (required).
  • Strong knowledge of Amazon Seller Central, FBA/FBM/AWD accounting, and 3PL integrations.
  • Experience with AI and automation tools for accounting, data analytics, or forecasting (preferred).
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced, high-growth environment with multiple concurrent priorities.
