MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSMatric certificate / equivalentDiploma / Degree in Health and Safety ManagementBlasting certificate or Valid Trade TestValid driverxe2x80x99s licenseCOMSOC 01 & COMSOC 02 or equivalentComputer literate (Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in an underground Mining Environment3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in operational safety Management systems and ISO requirementsExperience in Raiseboring operationsKnowledge of industry and related legislation and standardsEmergency preparedness and response management knowledge and experience in the Mining SectorEffective Team Player and Effective Self-ManagementROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESPerform roles and responsibilities of the Safety Officer as depicted in the MHSA regulationConduct Safety inspectionsInvestigate incidents & accidentsMaintain procedures for the operation in specific areas of responsibility, ensure adherence to Group Standards and Legal RequirementsCommunicate Health and Safety Awareness and Campaigns and on the job coaching of legislative and procedural requirementsAttend meetings with the OHS Manager to give feedback and receive instructions to improve safety performance in area of responsibilityAssist the OHS Manager with information gathering related to mandatory reportsAssist HODs and lead internal incident/accident investigationsParticipate in 2nd and 3rd party health and safety audits in areas of responsibilityEstablish and maintain good working relationships and an effective communication system with the SHEQT FunctionManage and report on non-compliance issues
