Rope access practitioner

An EME based in Pretoria East, Waltloo is looking for an energetic, sharp, dedicated and disciplined Rope access practitioner to join their team.

The following are the minimum requirements:

Rope access practioner qualification as a minimum requirement. A minimum of 4 years' experience post qualification Eskom/Sasol/Mining experience is an added advantage

Skills and Competencies required

Detail- Oriented Conduct inspections, cleaning, maintenance, and repairs while suspended on ropes. Proficiency in using ropes, harnesses, and other specialized climbing gear, along with knowledge of relevant knots and rigging techniques. Set up anchor points, rig working ropes, and perform rescue maneuvers as required, following safety procedures like those from IRATA or IWH. Inspect and maintain rope access equipment, ensuring it is in good working order before and after use. A thorough understanding of safety procedures, legal and safety requirements, and equipment inspection protocols is necessary. Basic understanding of Occupational Health & Safety Act. Ability to participate in and understand risk assessments before starting a job Thorough understanding of the permit-to-work system for welding, grinding, and cutting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Problem solving skills Technically sound
