Key Performance Areas
Risk management
To lead the implementation, standardisation and integration of enterprise risk management policy, strategy and framework in order to ensure that risks are mitigated in line with the organisation's risk appetite.
To develop and maintain Growthpoint's risk register and assisting the organisation in identifying mitigation strategies to minimise the exposure.
To ensure understanding, application and adherence to Growthpoint's risk appetite by the business.
To conduct risk assessment for sectors and shared services divisions to identify and assess strategic risks that will form part of top risks for the organisation.
To conduct annual reviews to ascertain effectiveness and adequacy of the mitigation strategies with the risk owners.
To conduct risk assessment of emerging risks based international risk surveys such as those undertaken by the World Economic Forum, Aon, etc and prepare reports.
To compile the information required for the risk management and compliance components of the Integrated Annual Report.
To conduct risk assessments of Growthpoint Investment Partners (GIP) and compile reports on the risk management activities.
To maintain and manage risk management system that will house the risk information for the organisation.
To develop and provide training to employees on risk management activities and work with executive management to foster appropriate risk culture across the organisation.
To compile and submit risk reports to be included in the Exco and Risk Management Committee pack.
Compliance
To ensure implementation, standardisation and integration of Growthpoint's compliance policy, strategy and framework in order to ensure that compliance risks are mitigated in line with the organisation's risk appetite.
To manage, maintain and report on regulatory universe that details all legislation applicable to Growthpoint, working together with in-house and external legal advisers.
To conduct compliance risk management plans (CRMPs) to ensure that the business understands and adheres to their compliance obligations.
To monitor, manage and report on Growthpoint's compliance requirements to the regulatory bodies.
To actively engage with the regulators, government stakeholders and industry bodies to understand and operationalise compliance requirements for Growthpoint.
To monitor and manage compliance activities of Growthpoint Investment Partners (GIP) and compile reports on the compliance activities.
To manage and maintain compliance management system that will house the compliance information for the organisation.
To develop and provide training to employees on compliance activities and work with executive management to foster appropriate compliance culture across the organisation.
To be appointed as the Money-Laundering Reporting Officer and perform the functions thereof.
To ensure compliance with the local and international financial crime regulations including Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FIC Act), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT) regulations, sanctions, anti-bribery laws applicable to Growthpoint.
To provide expert advice to the business on FIC Act obligations to ensure compliance.
To monitor and interpret legislation and regulatory changes related to FIC Act and AML regulations and advice relevant business areas accordingly.
To maintain and update the Risk Management and Compliance Programme (RMCP) ensuring that it is aligned to the requirements of FIC Act.
To track and report instances of non-compliance and assist the business with remedial actions.
To compile compliance reports that will be included in the Exco and Risk Management Committee pack.
Knowledge
Significant experience in Risk and Compliance, preferably with hands-on experience in conducting risk assessments, including combined assurance processes, as well as risk & compliance reporting.
Strong communication skills with ability to partner with the business while maintaining essential independence.
Demonstrated track record of influencing stakeholders from different backgrounds to drive a strong risk and compliance culture.

5 - 8 years' experience in the compliance and risk environment comprising of the following:
providing enterprise-wide risk assessment and risk response strategy

professional experience as a compliance and risk officer within the various business functions of an organisation
managerial experience
Education
Bachelors degree with Honours majoring in Risk Management, Legal or Compliance with at least 5 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
