The Stellenbosch University Matie Shop is the official merchandise store of Stellenbosch University. This unit resides outside the traditional University framework in a spin out company, Factory 209 (Pty) Ltd, which is 100% owned by SU (Stellenbosch University). We are the official buyers and distributors of all SU branded apparel, gifting and accessories.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced

Retail Floor Supervisor

to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong people skills, excellent product knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for supervising day-to-day floor operations, managing POS, and supporting sales staff, ensuring the sales floor runs smoothly and efficiently.

Some duties and Responsibilities are as follow:

Supervise and motivate sales associates to achieve daily and monthly sales targets. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service standards. Assist the floor manager with staff schedules, breaks, and daily floor coverage. Oversee stock replenishment, visual merchandising, and store presentation. Oversee weekly stock takes and check SKU's and pricing are correct. Handle customer queries, complaints, and escalations professionally. Conduct daily floor walk-throughs to assess cleanliness, displays, and compliance. Train, coach, and mentor new and existing team members. Monitor and report on sales performance and operational efficiency to the floor manager. Support the floor manager with opening and closing procedures and daily cash-ups.

Requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification NQF 4 Minimum of 3 years' retail experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays. Proven ability to meet sales goals and manage a team effectively. Proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office. Flexible and Adaptable. Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
