Job Summary ?RESTAURANT GENERAL MANAGER VACANCY Salary: R35,000 per month (negotiable, DOE) Location: Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape (Garden Route) Accommodation: Live-out role - own transport is highly favourable Property Type: Upscale 4* hotel restaurant About the Position A well-established 4-star hotel restaurant in Plettenberg Bay is seeking an experienced Restaurant General Manager to oversee its busy, high-end dining operations. The successful candidate will be hands-on, detail-driven, and capable of leading a team to deliver consistently excellent guest service in a vibrant environment. The role is especially suited to existing Garden Route residents with solid restaurant or hotel management backgrounds. Key Responsibilities Full responsibility for daily restaurant operations, including service standards, staff scheduling, and FOH presentation. Ensure seamless coordination between kitchen and front of house teams. Lead; train, and motivate the service team to deliver 4* guest experiences. Manage reservations, VIP guest hosting, and special events. Conduct stock control, beverage ordering, and supplier management. Oversee financial reporting including cost control, daily cash-ups, and monthly budgets. Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and hygiene standards. Drive guest engagement, respond to feedback, and enhance the overall dining experience. Requirements Minimum 4 years' experience in a senior restaurant or hotel F&B management role (4* or higher). Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team. Financial acumen with experience in budgets, cost control, and stock management. Excellent knowledge of wine service and fine dining standards. Professional; presentable, and guest-focused with a proven track record in hospitality. Computer literacy (POS systems, MS Office; DinePlan experience an advantage). Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Own transport essential; candidates must be based in Plettenberg Bay / Garden Route area.
