Reports To: Owner/Proprietor
Job Summary:
The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant's operations, including but not limited to, financial performance, customer satisfaction, staff management, and compliance with health and safety regulations. The General Manager will work closely with the owner/proprietor to achieve the restaurant's goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and quality of food
- Manage and motivate staff to provide a positive work environment and deliver exceptional service
- Monitor and control costs, including food, labor, and overhead expenses
- Create and maintain schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations and standards
- Develop and update policies and procedures as needed
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and conducting regular inventory checks
- Assist with marketing and promotional activities to drive business
- Participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations of staff
- Maintain a strong working relationship with vendors and suppliers
The Restaurant General Manager plays a critical role in the success of the restaurant and must demonstrate a strong work ethic, dedication to customer service, and a passion for the food and beverage industry. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, problem solver, and team player who can lead by example and inspire others to achieve excellence.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in restaurant management, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Proven track record of delivering financial results and achieving business objectives
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and restaurant management software
