Restaurant General Manager required in Kenilworth, Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities:
Full knowledge of our menu, including tapas, mains, drinks, cocktails, smoothies & more.
Level 3 barista & bar training - milk foaming, shot pulling, and slip management.
In-depth knowledge of our brand's story and our ethically sourced beans & products.
Oversee kitchen operations and be capable of preparing all recipes using our recipe book.
Handle all ordering - from daily bread & cakes to fresh produce and bar/kitchen stock.
Track stock movement and pricing - identify variances in quality, quantity, or cost.
Use GAAP for daily cash-ups, invoice capture, stock-takes, and reporting (e.g., labour & stock movement).
Lead the floor and ensure smooth daily operations.
Delegate or step into any role when needed due to short staffing or emergencies.
Manage rosters, monitor labour vs turnover, and control the weekly wage bill.
Handle customer interaction, feedback, and build loyalty with regular patrons.
Maintain a confident, professional presence and lead by example.
Requirements:
2-3+ years in a similar hospitality management role.
Strong understanding of front- and back-of-house operations.
Knowledge of GAAP or similar POS/back-office systems.
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
Ability to perform under pressure and multitask effectively.
