A well-established and growing fast casual restaurant group in Cape Town is seeking a highly experienced Restaurant Business Manager (RBM) to lead operational performance, financial controls, and people management across its business. This is a senior leadership role suited to a commercially minded operator with a strong background in high-volume, multi-unit or fast casual restaurant environments.
Description
The Restaurant Business Manager will be responsible for the full oversight of daily restaurant operations, ensuring that standards, systems, and financial disciplines are consistently applied. This role requires a hands-on leader who is equally comfortable on the floor, in the numbers, and in people development.
Key responsibilities include managing inventory and cost controls, overseeing budgets and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining a professional and efficient restaurant environment. The RBM will play a critical role in developing, motivating, and leading management and operational teams to achieve performance targets and sustained growth.
The position also involves handling escalated customer complaints, protecting the brand's reputation, and implementing operational improvements aligned with fast casual best practices. Exposure to large Northern Hemisphere fast casual brands is strongly preferred, as the business values experience gained in structured, high-performance international environments.

Minimum Requirements

• 5-15 years' proven senior experience in the restaurant industry
• Strong fast casual or multi-unit restaurant background
• Northern Hemisphere fast casual experience highly advantageous
• Bachelor's degree in hospitality or related field preferred
• Strong financial acumen and inventory management experience
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, QuickBooks, MarketMan, and Lightspeed
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver's license and legal eligibility to work in South Africa
