Responsible Pharmacist
Job Description
Job Summary 1.? ?Regulatory & Legal Compliance o Ensure full compliance with the Medicines and Related Substances Act, Pharmacy Act, Cannabis for Private Purposes Act (where applicable), GMP, and GACP regulations. o Liaise with the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) and South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) regarding licensing, renewals, audits, and product registration. o Maintain the pharmaceutical licence, manufacturing licence, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certifications. o Ensure all controlled substances are stored, handled, and documented according to Schedule 6 or Schedule 7 substance requirements. 2.? ?SOP Development and Implementation o Develop, implement, and regularly update SOPs across all departments including: o Cultivation and harvest interfacing o Drying and trimming procedures o Extraction and purification methods o Manufacturing and compounding (creams, oils, tinctures, edibles) o Batch release procedures o Labelling and packaging o Dispensing and distribution o Waste management and destruction protocols o Ensure SOPs meet GMP, GACP, GDP, and ISO standards. o Oversee staff adherence and regular internal audits of SOP implementation. 3.? ?Product Quality and Safety o Supervise quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) systems. o Ensure raw materials, intermediate and finished products meet quality specifications. o Approve product release for sale or export, ensuring batch documentation, COAs, and traceability
