Job Description
- Plan and undertake research on biosystematics of agriculturally important nematode pests in support of biosecurity in the agricultural sector.
- Develop diagnostic tools.
- Management of research technicians.
- Expand national reference collections, in particular the National Collection of Nematodes.
- Compile and manage research budgets.
- Actively source new research opportunities and write proposals for funding.
- Disseminate research results as scientific peer reviewed publications, congress presentations, popular articles and client reports.
- Mentor post graduate students.
- PhD or MSc in Nematology.
- Three (3) years relevant experience in Nematology.
- SACNASP registration and/or NRF rating.
- Substantial record of relevant scientific publications.
- Track record of obtaining research funding.
- Valid Code B & EB driver's license.
