RESEARCH NURSE

TWELVE (12) MONTHS FIXED-TERM CONTRACT

The main purpose of this position is to perform clinical procedures on research participants according to protocol requirements and Good Clinical Practices.




Nursing Degree/Diploma equal to NQF 7 qualification Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) Minimum of 1year experience in a similar role in clinical drug trials Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice with a valid GCP certificate Ability to speak English and Xhosa/Afrikaans Highly functional computer Literate (Proficiency in Ms Excel, Ms Word, Ms Office package) Having excellent organizational ability and written and oral communication skills. Attention to detail Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Ability to work under pressure Ability to work independently and part of a team Strong Client Focus Strong Work Ethic Valid driver's license and willingness to travel independently between public clinic facilities

Responsibilities:

Perform all clinical observations and procedures as required by research protocols, including phlebotomy on children and adults. Perform all activities according to Good Clinical Practice Standards Transcribe research data into case report forms as needed Assist Medical Officer with procedures Advise and guide participant on basic medical conditions Availability to work over time when required Complete all administration requirements including informing Study Coordinators of daily clinic progress and maintaining participant records Assist with quality control requirements Assist in inventory, ordering and equipment management
